Angola confirms; Egypt awaited

Gambia coach Paul Put has told Gambia Sports Online and West Coast Radio that the planned friendly against 2010 African Nations Cup hosts, Angola will go ahead as planned.

"We have confirmation of the match in Portugal against Angola," the Belgian Scorpions coach said on Tuesday.

He also confirmed that Tunisia will host the Scorpions in a friendly a week after the Gambia plays the Nations Cup hosts.

However, reigning African chamion Egypt remains a doubt leaving Put with some travelling to undertake to rescue the game.

"[According to our plans] we should play Egypt in Dubai on the 5th of January but that’s not confirmed yet. So therefore I am travelling [on Tuesday] to Belgium and on to Paris to see the Portuguese match agent and the French match to see if we can play Egypt on the 5th in Dubai," Put told his interviewer, Bakary Baldeh.
