The former Gambia Ports Authority midfielder in an exclusive interview with www.gambiasports.gm Editor Baboucarr Camara said he was “very much disappointed with the way the Norwegian side handled the whole affair”, but that is now a thing of the past”.
Jaiteh was heavily linked with the English Premiership giants after his man of the match performance against Senegal in a 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw in Dakar where he caught the eye of their scouts.
But the Bergen outfit backed out of the deal to the disappointment of the player that prompted him to sack his agent and according to him, this nearly worked against him with the club feeling that he is no more committed to their course.
“I was very disappointed with the way that Brann handled the whole affair [the possible transfer to Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland] which I made clear to the press back in Norway.
“The Coach thought that I was no more committed to the team and that my heart is no more with them. That wasn’t the case but rather I wanted to make my disappointments clear since they also need to look into my interest as well in case it happens again.
“At the beginning of the season, he [the Coach] wasn’t using me in the opening three games but I was still very focused and positive during trainings until he threw me in, in the second half of the fourth game and that was a turning point for me because I went onto to play in 25 of the 30 games which was incredible.
“Football is like that and this has made me grow stronger as a footballer and I feel like, I am just kicking off my professional career. That is a thing of the past, and now I will leave everything in the hands of my new agent to concentrate on my football” Tijan said.
The Gambian international also talked about the disappointment of Brann finishing outside the European qualification places and has also made an appeal and most especially to the President of the Republic of the Gambia His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhagie Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh to help them play test games.
