Armed Forces win Super Cup

The Soldiers came from behind against last season’s giant killers [Young Africans] who first scored before the game settled at a 1-1 stalemate that saw the game forced to a post-match penalty shootout.

Young Africans playing in the second tier of Gambian football defy all the odds last season on their way to winning the Gambia Football Association Cup by beating favourites Armed Forces, Wallidan and Gamtel on their way to the title.

Young Africans beat Armed Forces 1-0 in the quarter finals of the Cup last season and when Ousman Touray gave them the lead after the restart on Sunday, another shock looks very much likely on the cards.

They had all the chances on earth to put the game beyond doubt and burry it but they failed to capitalise and the Soldiers punished them as Buba Sama tapped in from inside the area to pull the scores levelled in the 73rd minute.
